Photonics offers natural advantages for scale: photons don't feel heat, are immune to electromagnetic interference, and integrate with existing cryogenic cooling and standard fiber-optic infrastructure.

In 2024, PsiQuantum announced government-funded projects to support the build-out of our first utility-scale quantum computers in Brisbane, Australia, and Chicago, Illinois. These initiatives reflect a growing recognition that quantum computing will be strategically and economically definingand that now is the time to scale.

The Senior Supply Chain Manager / Supplier Engineer will help drive supply chain performance for PsiQuantum's overall supply base, and in particular our suppliers for Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs), Electronic Components, and Box Builds containing PCBAs integrated with electronics and optical components. This role is critical to the company as we shift from R&D to production of the world's first fault tolerant quantum computer.

We are looking for an individual with experience in managing suppliers and supply chains in a technology environment, with particular experience in New Product Introduction, Ramping Supplier Capacity, and Developing Supply Chain Technical capabilities, Processes, and Programs. In this role, the candidate should have experience working with Engineering to support quick turn and NPI builds, while at the same time driving suppliers to deliver on time, manage projected deliveries, and then ramp to production volumes. Experience in DFx (Design for x, ie Manufacturing, Cost, Logistics, Reliability), electro-optical, opto-mechanical assemblies, electro-mechanical assemblies, cryogenic operations are a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Negotiate delivery, pricing, and other contract terms with key technology suppliers in the PCB, PCBA, and Box Build / Contract Manufacturing space.
• Buildup, oversee, and project manage supplier relationships and performance for large scale, long term engineering and capital programs.
• Scale and mature a global supply base for PCB, PCBA, and related electronic and electro-optical components and assemblies.
• Develop and enhance supplier selection and on-boarding processes.
• Develop and grow supplier technical capabilities to meet PsiQuantum's requirements for performance, quality, capacity, and cost.
• Partner with engineering and operations teams to align supplier performance with internal milestones and goals.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a business or technical field, MBA or ME preferred.
• Demonstrated business acumen in managing trade-offs for technical supplier selections.
• Successful ramp up of small and/or immature supply chains.
• Experience in both Startup environments and medium to large volume manufacturing.
• Contract negotiation and management experience.
• Business process development and improvement.
• Strong project management and technical and business problem solving skills.
• 7-10+ years of experience as a Supply Chain Manager or Supplier Engineering role.
• Experience with ERP (NetSuite) and PLM (Arena) or similar systems.
• Working knowledge of MS Office suite including project, powerpoint, excel, and word.

The ranges below reflect the target ranges for a new hire base salary. One is for the Bay Area (within 50 miles of HQ, Palo Alto), the second one (if applicable) is for elsewhere in the US (beyond 50 miles of HQ, Palo Alto). If there is only one range, it is for the specific location of where the position will be located. Actual compensation may vary outside of these ranges and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's qualifications including relevant education and training, competencies, experience, geographic location, and business needs. Base pay is only one part of the total compensation package. Full time roles are eligible for equity and benefits. Base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
