Registered Nurse - Stepdown Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts are rotational day and night, including 3x12-hour shifts. Day shift runs from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, while night shift runs from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Note that shifts may vary based on the operational needs of the hospital.

Job Description

The role involves providing direct patient care in a stepdown unit, with the potential to float to other units as needed. Candidates must demonstrate strong clinical skills and the ability to manage multiple patients with various medical needs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients' health status


• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed


• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes


• Educate patients and families on care plans and health management


• Complete required documentation accurately and timely

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 18 months of recent permanent experience in stepdown nursing or travel equivalent


• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a compact state license


• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS


• Must be able to pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation
