Consumer Protection Inspector

Perform inspections of retail food stores, food processors, food storage warehouses, and home food processors Conduct sanitation and public health inspections Assess findings to determine non-compliance and write non-compliance records Some statewide travel is required Requirements Four (4) years of education, training, and/or experience in microbiology, agricultural science, food science, applied mechanics, regulatory/law enforcement, or weights and measures Must be willing to attend out-of-state training Must successfully complete all training with passing grade Must have valid driver’s license Competency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in conducting inspections and assessments in food safety and public health, with a strong foundation in microbiology and food science. Proficient in regulatory compliance and effective communication of non-compliance findings.
