Job Details Location: Avera St. Mary's Hospital, United States of America Work type: Regular Shift: Rotating days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays Pay Range: $32.50 – $48.50 per hour (actual rate dependent on experience) Relocation bonus up to $2,500 and sign‑on bonus up to $15,000. Overview The Registered Nurse delivers comprehensive nursing care to patients on Adult Specialty units, including Nephrology, Transplant, Neurology, Extended Care, and Cardiovascular units. The RN develops nursing diagnoses, establishes care objectives, defines interventions, and provides physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends. Through the nursing process, the RN independently delivers care, evaluates patient progress, and receives guidance and supervision for skill enhancement. The RN performs assessments, procedures, treatments, evaluations, care‑plan development and revisions, and education. Responsibilities Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary for high‑level nursing care in assigned units and serve as a professional role model. Assess patient condition using observation, examination, interviews, physician diagnosis, laboratory findings, and other pertinent data; prepare, prioritize, and execute care plans aligned with evidence‑based practice. Implement nursing interventions to promote patient outcomes, stabilize conditions, and prevent complications; complete assessments within specified time frames. Recognize changes in normal and abnormal parameters across physiological, psychological, cultural, developmental, and spiritual domains. Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and prepare patients for safe discharge. Identify and address patient and family educational needs; provide education at appropriate level using existing resources. Incorporate patient needs into the care plan, evaluate and document response to care, and modify plans as necessary. Follow facility guidelines and procedures, collaborate with the Nurse Manager to meet budgetary, quality, and patient‑satisfaction goals. Direct and delegate support personnel; provide guidance and intervene when care standards deviate. Assist in education and training of other nurses and students. Administer prescribed treatments, medications, IV fluids, and blood products per nursing protocols. Maintain patient‑care equipment and supplies, troubleshoot, manage inventory, and requisition supplies. Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Registered Nurse (RN) license from the state Board of Nursing (active license required upon hire). Visual acuity adequate for job duties. Effective communication skills: hearing, understanding, and distinguishing speech and other sounds. Ability to perform each essential job function satisfactorily.
