Description Maintenance Technician A Description: The Maintenance Technician "A" performs facility maintenance requirements on CNC machines. Keep facility areas clean and in an orderly condition. Work successfully with co‑workers, customers, contractors, & others. Understand and follow instructions, both verbal and written. Understand instructions for tasks using basic maintenance and communication skills. Responsibilities : Installs, maintains and repairs machines and equipment in plant and related facilities. Performs a variety of preventative maintenance on parts, pumps, motors, hydraulic systems and related plant and facility equipment. Performs a variety of maintenance requiring knowledge of plumbing, pipe fitting, carpentry, electrical, electronics, welding and other skilled trades as appropriate or applicable. Completes work orders and paperwork regarding daily maintenance and repair duties. Ensures compliance with operating policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment and efficient operations; may require wearing appropriate safety equipment and gear. Follow all safety regulations for the individual as well as other employees, including keeping the work area clean and in orderly condition as well as wearing all appropriate safety attire for the job that is being performed. Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment. Identify and perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists. Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary. Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Record maintenance and repair work performed and the costs of the work. Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. Performs all types of electrical equipment and machine circuits and systems, including but not limited to, raceways, lighting, associated lighting controls, power transformers, distribution centers, motor control centers, breaker panels, various machine tools, cafeteria equipment, grinders, motors, pumps, heaters, hoists, single‑stage reversing controlled motors, data and voice communications, fiber optic/copper cabling, electrical systems, programmable logic controllers (PLC), variable frequency drives (VFD), pendant and radio frequency controlled cranes, parts markers, production manufacturing processes, controllers, programmable controllers, lighting controls, thermal process equipment, networked computer systems, computer, numerical and/or electronic controlled machines and associated PLC’s, robotics, lasers (measurement, projection, and production), part marking machines, welders, master paging systems, phone systems, master time clock systems, FCC radios, pagers, RFID devices, data & video communication systems, power conditioning and backup systems including those that are in support of server rooms, all other types of electrical/electronic equipment and machines, and associated software and components of the above typical company assets. Perform software backups of all applicable assets. Use and update blueprints, schematics, software, and wiring diagrams to determine compliance with wiring specifications and location for all electrical and electronic installations subject to applicable specifications, codes, and ordinances to accomplish work assignments. Devise and fabricate any necessary testing aids and equipment. Use applicable machinery, production aids, tools, instruments, test equipment, predictive technologies and shop theory to accomplish work assignments. Experience working with, Siemens 840D control - Solution Line and Power Line Makino Acramatic 650, 2100 Basic Qualifications Minimum of eight (8) years of general maintenance experience is required to work in this position. Required: Good knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry and overall general maintenance. High mechanical ability. At least one year of Pneumatic experience. Ability to use hand tools and power tools. MIG & TIG Welding experience. Ability to work in a collaborative environment. Good troubleshooter. Excellent verbal/ written communication and customer service skills. Solid work ethic with a commitment to consistent on‑time work attendance. Physical Demands/ Equipment used to perform the job: Ability to lift, place, carry and push objects up to 50lbs or more Able to climb a ladder. Ability to operate hand tools and power tools Must be able to stand, sit, walk, bend, crawl or stoop for long periods of time. Must be able to work in an uncontrolled environment; in outdoor elements. Strong attention to detail. Very organized and orderly. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and environmental rules, equipment operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively to customers, co‑workers, contractors, and team members. Very good communications and decision‑making skills. Know how to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide. Ability to apply good judgment when carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Work is routine & repetitive. Recognize and understand safety signs and building warning systems. Understand safety requirements. Understand & meet company handbook expectations. Ability to use hand and power tools, such as hammer, screwdriver, pliers, power drill, saws, roto‑hammers and grinders. Use of forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, and ladders. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to operate various maintenance equipment. Follows processes and procedures. Ability to multitask. Must be able to pass a DMV background check to operate a company vehicle General Requirements: Motivation – displays a positive attitude, offers helpful suggestions, works well under pressure and in a team environment, understands and supports customer mission and value statement.
