Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced travel RN for a high-acuity Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience, prior travel experience, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification.

Details

• 19-bed Labor & Delivery unit in a hospital setting
• High-acuity patient population with a 1-2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• 12-hour night shifts, 3 shifts per week
• On-call required: 12 hours per 6-week scheduling period
• EMR: Epic experience used on this unit
• Floating is required; travelers are first to float, including to sister campuses located within 15-20 minutes of the primary facility

Requirements

• Active FL RN license or compact RN license (currently in hand)
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course completion required
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring course and EFM certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Ability to manage high-acuity L&D patients
• Degree from an accredited nursing program required, or 5+ years of experience in lieu of accreditation documentation
• Driver's license address must match the address on file with the Board of Nursing

Additional Information

• Travelers are welcomed into the unit and are expected to function at the same level as core staff
• Orientation begins on a Friday; remote orientation is completed prior to an in-person visit to the facility for badge and ID
• No block scheduling requests will be accommodated
• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration and will not be approved afterward
• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; this radius rule is strictly enforced and applies to owned or co-signed property as well
• Scrub color required: Galaxy Blue and/or White
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position; prior travel experience is required
