Sales and Service Technician

Job Category Retail Position Summary The retail Sales and Service Specialist (SSS) is a unique hybrid role for stores and is intended as a key pipeline for future career‑growth within BSRO. The role is primarily responsible for serving the customer by assessing needs, recommending products or services, performing entry‑level vehicle services, and ensuring satisfaction through timely completion of services. Pay Range: $15.20 – $22.71. Responsibilities Providing superior customer service to the customer (~75% of time) Thoroughly assess the customers’ needs through direct interactions in‑person or on the phone Recommend appropriate products and/or services Effectively communicate sales and/or promotions Promote the sign‑up and/or use of in‑store financing options (CFNA) Resolve customer complaints in a timely and suitable manner Follow up with the customer to ensure satisfaction with products or services Completing basic vehicle service tasks (~25% of time) Tire services including tire repair, new tire installs, tire mounting, rotations and balancing Engine oil and filter changes Battery testing, maintenance, and replacement Fluids, filter replacement and light vehicle maintenance Bulb and wiper replacement Alignment checks Performing store operational tasks (as needed) Store opening and closing procedures Unloading store product shipments and stocking product Performing product inventories Set‑up and maintenance of store displays, promotional materials, and product pricing General cleaning in store lobby and shop areas Preferred Qualifications 2‑year degree or non‑traditional education through training program completion, certification, or other exhibiting a growth mindset Previous consumer retail sales experience Previous automotive experience a plus Previous management/supervisory experience a plus Supervisory Responsibilities This role is an individual contributor with no direct reports May act as Manager‑On‑Duty in certain circumstances when Store Manager and/or Service Manager are unavailable, supporting their development readiness for management or alternative career‑path Assists Store Management in ensuring the store is operating in a safe manner by proactively addressing safety concerns and informing Store Management of any outstanding safety concerns Physical Demands Standing for prolonged periods Bending and/or twisting of body Kneeling, stooping, and crouching Handling hand tools, including manual and pneumatic Ability to lift up to 75 lbs Ability to push or pull with up to 80 lbs of force (e.g., opening/closing shop doors, moving floor jacks and lubrication equipment) Work Environment Store locations may be open 7 days a week with normal operating hours of approximately 91 hours, consisting of a store lobby area and a shop area Store lobbies are typically climate controlled with tile or concrete floors and contain seating for customers Shop areas are generally not climate controlled and most locations have concrete floors Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Valid automobile driver’s license Customer service and career growth mindset Ability to complete required store education courses and modules Ability to learn and perform basic vehicle service tasks Ability to learn and operate store systems What we offer A supportive and engaging onboarding experience to ensure a smooth transition into our team The opportunity to develop and grow, through training and regular mentorship Corporate Social Responsibility activities A truly global, dynamic and challenging work environment Agility and work/life effectiveness and your long‑term well‑being A diverse and inclusive team Employment Eligibility If hired, a Form I‑9 Employment Eligibility Verification must be completed at the start of employment.
