Fire Sprinkler DesignerFire Sprinkler Designers create unique design solutions to meet specific customer requirements for commercial building sprinkler systems in new and existing facilities. Fire Sprinkler Designers also make recommendations for productivity improvements and cost reductions to increase customer satisfaction and job profitability.As a Fire Sprinkler Designer you will:Design and layout fire sprinkler systems using AutoCAD/Revit and hydraulic calculation software per codes and standards.Prepare detailed shop drawings and submit plans for AHJ approval.Ensure compliance with NFPA 12, 13R, 13D, and local building codes.Perform hydraulic calculations and verify water supply adequacy.Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other trades during design.Review and interpret construction documents and specifications.Maintain accurate project documentation and meet deadlines.Responsible for submittal to the Louisianna State Fire Marshalls office.You will make an impact with these qualifications:High school diploma or state-recognized GED5+ years of experience designing / layout of water-based systemNICET Level III certificate in water-based system layoutsProficient knowledge of current applicable codes including NFPA, IBC, UBC, UFC and the principles and practices of fire protection engineeringAbility to design large and complex jobs with some deviation using standard tools, products, and practicesStrong knowledge of industry engineering fundamentals and business operationsProficient in engineering design software or drafting tools such as HydraCAD and RevitCandidates must be able to work in an office work environment and live within 150 miles of the New Orleans Office.Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorshipMust be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations; must meet eligibility requirements to participate in Siemens' fleet vehicle programPreferred Qualifications:Associate or Bachelor's Degree7+ years of experience designing water-based system layoutsNICET Level IV certificate in water-based system layouts or Professional Engineering LicenseExperience in the design of special hazard suppression systems and/or fire alarm systemsJoin us today!We are a global technology company focused on industry, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare.
