Researcher - Comprehensive Cancer Center

Job Overview Researcher who participates in planning, design, execution, and management of research projects in a foundational biological/health science laboratory investigating the innate immune system to enhance cancer immunotherapy targeting pancreatic cancer, breast cancer and leukemia within the Department of Surgery, Division of Surgical Oncology. Responsibilities Plan, design, execute, and manage research projects in a basic science laboratory. Develop and implement goals and objectives of studies. Design and execute complex laboratory experiments. Perform advanced molecular and cellular techniques, including primary cell culture, western blotting, and quantitative real‑time PCR. Maintain animal colonies and assist with in‑vivo experiments for cancer models. Collect, analyze, and interpret research data. Assist in the development and implementation of new or revised research methodologies and techniques. Test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods, and recommend improvements. Assist in establishing controls, criteria, and research standards. Perform critical analysis of literature relevant to the research. Assist in preparing research papers and manuscripts for publication and presentation at national and international conferences. Assist principal investigator in preparing proposals to obtain new or renewal of extramural funding. Coordinate laboratory activities and work assignments of postdoctoral researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, and laboratory staff. Oversee and coordinate periodic maintenance and testing of laboratory equipment. Perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Required Qualifications Master's Degree in pathology, molecular medicine, biological sciences or related field; PhD preferred or equivalent experience. 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 3 years of relevant experience with a Master's Degree. Knowledge and expertise in immunotherapy. Experience in a progressively responsible administrative capacity preferred. Extensive experience planning and developing projects preferred.
