Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Flint Hills) - Nuclear Med - FT - Day

Position Overview Full time, first shift (days, less than 12 hours per shift), United States of America. 40 hours per week. Non-exempt. Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies. Assists with oversight of regulatory expectations for Nuclear Medicine in the Flint Hills Region. Experience and Qualifications 1 year experience in nuclear medicine or a related field. Required certifications: Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist – NMTCB, or Nuclear Medicine Technology – ARRT, or Radiography – ARRT (must complete cross training within 6 months of hire). Licensed Radiology Technologist (LRT) – KSBHA valid Kansas license or must be obtained. Basic Life Support – BLS (required within 90 days of hire). Responsibilities Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses under physician direction. Calibrates equipment. Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and produce organ images. Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers, scintillation detectors. Administers therapeutic doses under physician direction. Follows radiation safety techniques and proper disposal of radioactive materials. Performs venipuncture for injections. Provides services promptly at times convenient for customers. Maintains patient confidentiality. Creates a friendly atmosphere and prioritizes meeting customer needs courteously. Demonstrates proper use of equipment, time, supplies to control costs. Shows openness to change and improves knowledge through departmental meetings and educational activities. Contributes to team atmosphere with excellent communication, initiative, flexibility to exceed expectations. Seeks opportunities to improve knowledge and attend educational activities. Travel Requirements 40% travel to clinic locations. Remote Work Guidelines Workspace must be quiet, distraction‑free, meet security and privacy standards.
