Cloud Data Engineer

Provide a short description of the Position: Help support and augment DOH portfolio team to manage OHIP applications.

Provide a list of the day-to-day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate: Support current data integration between providers with OHIP data systems including Medicaid Data Warehouse, eMedNY and NYSoH via Health Commerce System. Provide support for provider to use Medicaid data management and analytics tools on Health Commerce System. Collaborate with OHIP staff and vendor to identify and document HCS needs and prioritize subsequent implementation. Provide production support for Java apps in a Linux environment running on Oracle WebLogic servers. Develop/Support shell scripts which may be used for variety of purposes like file transfers, system monitoring. Design and implement content management systems Design techniques for modernization of platform architecture supporting department applications The daily work will include: -Performing application development tasks including researching and documenting technical designs, programming solutions, writing and executing unit test plans, researching, resolving, and testing defects, customer technical support, and close collaboration with project team. -Review business requirements documentation with technical manager to ensure clarity in implementation of technical design. -Implement systems and program design to meet highly complex business needs and technical design document. -Creates appropriate documentation in work assignments such as program code and technical documentation.-Assists technical manager in development of time estimates and assigned tasks
Guides the software development team in coding, testing, debugging, implementing, and documenting highly complex programs, and developing complex test plans to verify logic programs.-Troubleshoots complex end user technical issues, identifying problems and leading solutions-Implements release management process including technical steps to promote, test and release through the development environment, coordinating with infrastructure staff.-Uses iterative and agile software development life cycle methodologies.
