Payroll & Accounting Coordinator Job Type: Contract-to-Hire Starting Pay: $30.50/hour — higher pay available depending on experience Schedule: 1st Shift Lunch: 1 hour Position Overview We are looking for an experienced Payroll & Accounting Coordinator to handle weekly payroll and assist with accounting and employee-related administrative tasks. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage confidential payroll information accurately and on schedule. What You'll Handle Process weekly payroll for both office and field employees. Maintain payroll records and ensure accurate processing of salaries, benefits, 401(k) contributions, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions . Enter and verify payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, and employee pay-rate updates. Review payroll calculations, balances, and internal controls for accuracy. Prepare and file payroll tax requirements on a weekly, quarterly, and year-end basis. Prepare and process W-2s and other required payroll documentation. Process weekly employee expense reimbursements. Assist the Human Resources team with employee-related payroll matters. Support internal and external audits by gathering requested records and documentation. Provide general assistance to the Accounting Department. Download and upload weekly data files related to health and dental insurance . Process and maintain company credit card transactions. Help maintain payroll systems and identify opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency. Qualifications Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field required , or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 3 years of related accounting and/or payroll experience . Strong knowledge of payroll processing, reconciliation, internal controls, and payroll taxes. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
