Commercial Industry Processing Section Manager

Job Description and Duties

This position is located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento.

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as the Manager V, DMV, of the Commercial Industry Processing Section within the Industry Services Branch, Operations Division. This critical leadership position oversees mission essential operations responsible for processing the workloads of the International Registration Plan (IRP), Information Release Unit (IRU), and Accounts Management Unit (AMU).  

The Manager V, DMV (MGR V), through subordinate management teams, directs all activities of the Commercial Industry Processing Section. The incumbent provides oversight of the IRU, IRP, and AMU units to ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal statutes, and to maintain and enhance sound customer service practices.

Candidates should possess strong competencies in supervisory and leadership principles; training and staff development; auditing and quality control; customer service; written and verbal communication; interpersonal relations; decision making; delegation; analytical and problem-solving abilities; team building; organization; time management; conflict resolution; workforce management; and project management. Proficiency in personal computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, is also required.

This Limited Term position may be extended to 24 months and may become Permanent.

Working Conditions

Works in an enclosed office with four walls, in a climate-controlled building. Will utilize personal computer (PC), telephone, printer, fax machine, scanner, and copier. May be required to attend offsite meetings.
