Digital Content Producer

The future of Houston Life won't be measured by one hour of television. It'll be measured by how we show up everywhere else. We're looking for a Digital Content Producer to help build that future. You’ll build and operate an always‑on audience engine that reaches people across platforms throughout the day, not just during the 1 p.m. broadcast. If the only content we publish comes from the show, we're doing it wrong. This is not a traditional producer role or an on‑air role. If you're happiest creating, experimenting, and building behind the camera, you'll fit right in. Success isn't measured by the volume of content you produce, but by how effectively you help Houston Life reach audiences beyond the broadcast. What You’ll Do Expand Houston Life beyond the broadcast Turn daily show content into platform-native formats (short‑form, vertical video, explainers, recaps, service‑driven content) Help define Houston Life's voice, storytelling, and presence across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, streaming, and emerging platforms. Pitch original content ideas built specifically for digital and social—not every story starts with the television show. Create content built for audience behavior, not just distribution Produce content designed for feeds, not just repurposed from broadcast Shape hooks, structure, pacing, and framing based on how audiences engage Ensure every piece answers: Why should I care? What do I get from this? Extend segments into franchises Turn one‑off segments into repeatable, scalable content formats Identify opportunities for series, recurring features, and talent‑driven content Create and publish content continuously throughout the day —not just from the broadcast — ensuring Houston Life reaches audiences who will never watch at 1pm Work across teams to strengthen execution Partner with show producers, talent, and photographers to identify content moments in real time Collaborate with our audience growth strategist and research to optimize performance and distribution Work with Creative Marketing Solutions on branded content and sponsor integrations Measure, learn, and improve Track how content performs across platforms Adjust formats, timing, and packaging based on real audience behavior Test new formats, publishing strategies, and storytelling techniques to continually improve audience engagement. What We’re Looking For Experience producing content for digital, social, or streaming platforms (not just broadcast) A deep understanding of platform-native storytelling across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms Strong writing, creative instincts, and mobile‑first storytelling skills Comfortable shooting, editing, and publishing independently when needed Uses analytics to refine ideas and improve performanceSees one story and imagines multiple ways to tell it Naturally collaborates across editorial, production, marketing, and talent Takes ownership of results and enjoys building something new If you've ever looked at a television show and thought, "They're leaving so much content on the table," this job was built for you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
