Part-time Acute Care Speech Language Pathologist

About this Job MedStar Health is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center. Ideal candidates will have experience with MBSS and FEES. The Speech‑Language Pathologist provides speech‑language pathology services, including but not limited to screening and evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, treatment re‑assessment and revision, patient/client re‑evaluation, discharge planning, and documentation in a variety of settings. The Speech‑Language Pathologist participates in program planning and protocol development as requested and assists the team in meeting established goals. Primary Duties Provides evaluation services including review of pertinent historical information, performance of specific assessments, determination of recommendations, and documentation of results. Explains evaluation findings and treatment plan to patients and families, and incorporates them in goal setting. Demonstrates proficiency in implementing treatment protocols based on evaluation findings, the patient's presentation, and the evolving health‑care environment. Consults with other healthcare professionals as indicated. Recognizes and documents changes in the patient's condition requiring modification of the plan of care or the need for medical/rehabilitation consultation. Completes appropriate discharge planning and follow‑up care, and accurately and timely documents and charges for patient care activities, painting a clear picture of the patient's course of care. Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity expectations, managing an accurate schedule. Demonstrates a professional commitment to provide frictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and empathy in a consumer‑driven environment. Takes initiative in pursuing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and organization. Serves as a clinical instructor to assign students and assists with orientation and mentoring of new staff, students, and volunteers. Qualifications Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited school of Speech Language Pathology. Completion of a clinical fellowship year (CFY). Licensed Speech‑Language Pathologist in Maryland. American Speech Language Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence. Salary range: USD $74,214.00 – $134,596.00 per year. #J-18808-Ljbffr
