Director of Construction

We have been confidentially retained to recruit a Director of Healthcare Construction for an established commercial general contractor. This executive will lead a team of Project Managers responsible for multiple healthcare projects ranging from $5M to $50M . The Director will have responsibility for project performance, client relationships, financial results, team development, and growth of the healthcare construction business. The position requires a construction leader with extensive Florida healthcare experience, including AHCA requirements and construction within active medical facilities . Candidates must currently reside in Florida. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of Project Managers managing multiple healthcare projects simultaneously . Provide executive oversight across projects ranging from $5M to $50M . Hold project teams accountable for schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client commitments. Manage relationships with healthcare systems, facility executives, owners, and industry partners. Drive forecasting, cost control, change management, and project profitability across the portfolio. Support business development and expansion of existing healthcare client relationships. Provide leadership from preconstruction and contracting through construction and closeout. Guide teams through AHCA requirements, phasing, occupied facilities, shutdowns, and operational constraints . Identify and manage contractual, financial, schedule, and operational risk. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline . 15+ years of commercial construction experience with substantial healthcare project experience. Demonstrated experience leading Project Managers across multiple concurrent projects . Experience with healthcare projects in the $5M–$50M range . Senior-level responsibility for operations, clients, financial performance, and team leadership . Direct experience with AHCA and Florida healthcare construction requirements. Experience delivering projects within occupied and operational healthcare facilities . Strong knowledge of preconstruction, contracting, scheduling, cost management, and project delivery.
