Schedule: 36 hours per week, night shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), every other weekend required. 13-week contract available.

Highlights:

• Long-term acute care setting specializing in geriatric patient population with complex medical needs
• Night shift nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:40 with CNA support; two nurses on duty until 11 PM
• PointClickCare EMR system (experience required)
• 24-hour orientation with comprehensive hospital onboarding week
• No call requirement; no floating requirement
• Average daily census of 36 patients in a 40-bed unit with on-call physician support after hours

Requirements:

• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• LTAC (Long-Term Acute Care) experience required
• PointClickCare EMR experience required
• Current BLS certification
• First-time travelers accepted with skilled nursing experience
• Comprehensive clinical skills including IV therapy, wound care, medication administration, catheter insertion, feeding tube management, respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, nebulizer treatments), diabetes management, and ostomy care
• Proficiency in assessment skills: neurological, cardiovascular, respiratory, and skin assessments
• Experience with infection control, fall prevention, pain management, and patient safety protocols
• Knowledge of pharmacology including analgesics, antibiotics, anticoagulation therapy, and cardiac medications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Skilled nursing or rehabilitation center experience
• Previous charge nurse experience
• Community hospital, teaching hospital, or trauma center (Level I or II) experience
• Experience with central line care (PICC), wound VAC therapy, tracheostomy care, and suctioning
• Familiarity with neurological conditions including CVA, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and traumatic brain injury
• Orthopedic experience with total joint replacements and amputation care
• End-of-life and palliative care experience
