Vice President, Strategic Initiatives

Boston, MA The Opportunity Our client, a leading middle-market private equity firm, is seeking a Director / Vice President of Strategic Initiatives to partner closely with senior leadership on the firm's highest-priority operational and strategic initiatives. This is a newly created position designed for someone who thrives in ambiguous environments and enjoys bringing structure, alignment, and execution to complex, cross-functional initiatives. Reporting directly to the firm's Managing Director of Operations, you'll work across virtually every business function, helping leadership design new processes, improve operating effectiveness, and execute strategic priorities that support the continued growth of the firm. This role offers broad visibility across the organization and significant exposure to executive leadership. Over time, the successful candidate will become a trusted thought partner to senior management, assuming ownership of increasingly strategic workstreams and leadership responsibilities. Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who combines the structured problem-solving of a consultant with the execution mindset of an operator. The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating ambiguity, influencing senior executives without formal authority, and quickly building credibility across a sophisticated professional services environment. Successful Candidates Often Come From Backgrounds Including Management Consulting Corporate Strategy Strategic Operations Enterprise Transformation Chief of Staff Business Transformation Financial Services Strategy or Operations Private Equity or Alternative Asset Management Qualifications Approximately 8-15 years of relevant experience. Proven success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives. Outstanding executive presence and the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership. Strong consulting-style problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent project management and organizational abilities. Exceptional written communication and executive presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to influence across functions without direct authority. Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments where priorities shift quickly.
