POSITION SUMMARY :
The Bucks County Park Police Officers are responsible for educating, protecting, and serving the lives and property of all people who visit the parks and facilities of the County of Bucks Parks System. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Patrols and enforces park regulations, Pennsylvania Crime Code, Motor Vehicle Code and Fish and Game Laws.
- Checks and sells camping and boating permits.
- Assists the public in using the parks and related facilities and provides information and assistance upon request.
- Administers first aid when necessary.
- Safeguards parks and related facilities.
- Ability to deal effectively with the public.
- Patrol and secures parks while enforcing park rules and maintains order.
- Investigates all incidents and prepares incident reports as needed.
- Compiles information needed for court cases.
- Maintains knowledge of the Pennsylvania Crimes Code, Motor Vehicle code, Fish and Game Laws and local laws and ordinances.
- Possess the authority to arrest any offenders in the parks.
- Supervises and directs traffic.
- Maintains good relations with surrounding police departments.
- Obeys all safety rules and regulations.
- Reports unusual conditions or questionable items to supervisor.
- Ability to deal and work effectively with the Rangers as well as the public.
- All additional duties assigned as deemed necessary and appropriate by the Chief of Rangers.

- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must be 21 years old.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
- Must be capable of passing physical, psychological testing and background check as required.
- Must possess average swimming skills.
- Must possess Act 120 Training.
- Must be a resident of Bucks County by the time FTO has been completed.
