Senior Accountant - Restaurant / Food Industry

Responsibilities

Kforce's client, a well-established Long Island based accounting firm is seeking a Senior Accountant - Restaurant/Food Industry in Babylon, NY. This firm offers a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being part of a nice, flexible, friendly culture and wants to avoid a long commute. Duties include:

• Bank and Credit card reconciliations
• Senior Accountant will maintain and balance the general ledger accurately
• Preparing trial balances, journal entries
• Entering data, maintaining records, and creating reports and financial statements
• As a Senior Accountant, you will perform general ledger work and tax write ups
• Preparing income and business tax returns for companies, partnerships, and individuals

Skills

• 3+ years of experience with accounting for the restaurant industry, including fast-serve restaurants
• Strong experience with Excel, including Pivot Tables and V-Lookup
• Self-motivated and ambitious
• Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and learn from other team members
• Able to build working relationships with peers, management, and client personnel
• Experience with Restaurant 365 and/or QSR software a plus
• Experience with CCH Axcess Tax and Document a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
