Treasure Coast Community Health (TCCH), a long-established and highly respected healthcare provider and Federally Qualified Health Center with locations throughout Indian River County, FL is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team. Assists dentists during examination and treatment of patients by performing the following duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Prepares treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocolsPrepares patients for dental treatments by welcoming, comforting, seating and draping patient.Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area, positioning instruments for dentist's access, suctioning and passing instruments.Provides diagnostic information by taking digital radiographic studies, pouring, trimming and polishing study castsMaintains patient appearance and ability to masticate by fabricating temporary restoration, cleanings and polishing removable appliances.Provides chair side assistance in both general and specialized dentistry.Operates all dental equipment, i.e. vital signs.Documents dental care services by charting in the patients electronic record in Dentrix and Intergy.Protects patient and employee by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.Protects patient and employees by adhering to HIPAA guidelines.Responsible for cleaning of dental operatory instruments. Education and/or ExperienceAssociate 's degree (A. A.) in dental assisting or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CertificationExpanded Functions Dental Certificate is required. If the applicant is a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) the CDA certification meets the requirements for expanded functions certification.Certification as a Dental Radiographer is preferred.
