Location: Pittsburgh, PA – Onsite

Pay Rate: $16.73/hr

Duration: Contract-to-Hire (Conversion Target: 3–4 Months)

• Strong verbal communication skills in a phone-based environment
• Comfortable handling inbound and outbound calls
• Ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously

• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume environment
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

• Specialty pharmacy, patient access, or pharmacy industry experience
• Insurance verification or benefits investigation experience

Job Description

The Patient Access Specialist supports patients throughout the financial access process, helping ensure timely access to medications and financial assistance programs. This role works directly with patients, healthcare providers, payers, and manufacturers while managing benefits investigations, prior authorizations, coverage issues, and ongoing follow-up.

• Conduct benefits investigations and verify patient coverage
• Support prior authorization and appeals processes
• Assist patients with enrollment in financial assistance programs
• Resolve insurance rejections and coverage-related issues
• Communicate with patients, providers, payers, and manufacturers
• Manage inbound and outbound calls
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation
• Ensure timely follow-up on authorizations, approvals, and patient needs
