BASIC PURPOSEResponsible for upkeep and maintenance of warehouse-related equipment (i.e. pallet jacks, highlifts, forklifts, batteries, etc). This keeps day and night warehouse operations functional to ensure efficient shipping and receiving of product.

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will help ensure warehouse equipment remains safe, operational, and available to support day and night warehouse operations.
Schedule
Tuesday through Saturday
2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Schedule and hours may vary based on business needs. Overtime may be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform repairs and maintenance on warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks, high lifts, forklifts, batteries, and related machinery.
Review equipment reports submitted by warehouse associates.
Document repairs and corrective actions and maintain repair logs according to US Foods policies.
Perform preventive maintenance on warehouse equipment and maintain accurate preventive-maintenance records.
Follow all US Foods and government safety requirements when working on equipment, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, placarding, required documentation, and maintaining a safe work environment.
Maintain and secure the battery-charging area, batteries, chargers, and related equipment.
Maintain company tools and maintenance equipment, including inventory control, safe operation, proper storage, and security of the tool area.
Purchase tools, parts, or equipment from approved local vendors when authorized.
Perform light facility maintenance as assigned, including light-bulb replacement, painting, storage-rack repairs, light plumbing, equipment repairs, and basic drywall and concrete repairs.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Internal: Warehouse personnel, warehouse supervisors, Operations support, Maintenance, and Sanitation personnel
External: Vendors and service providersWork Environment
Work is performed in warehouse and maintenance environments and may include exposure to powered equipment, batteries, tools, varying temperatures, noise, and other operational conditions.
What You Bring to the Table
Education and Training
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Additional mechanical training or a trade-school degree preferred.
Related Experience
Minimum of six months of previous mechanic or equipment-maintenance experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of warehouse equipment operation and repair.
Ability to repair and overhaul warehouse equipment.
Welding ability preferred.
Ability to read and write legibly.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to work effectively with limited direct supervision.
Strong attention to safety and detail.

Compensation Transparency
Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law, for example, state minimum wage thresholds.
The expected base rate for this role is $24.00 per hour.
