Engineer COOP

Job Summary

We are hiring an Engineer COOP for a contract opportunity in Manati, PR, supporting important engineering initiatives within a manufacturing environment in the agrochemical industry. This role is ideal for an early-career Mechanical Engineering professional who is eager to gain hands-on experience in utilities optimization, regulatory compliance, mechanical integrity, and industrial systems support.

As an Engineer COOP, you will work closely with experienced engineering and site teams on projects tied to energy efficiency, safety, field inspections, data analysis, and compliance with corporate program standards. This is a strong opportunity to build practical engineering experience in a structured, team-oriented environment with supportive leadership, exposure to critical site operations, and opportunities to learn from knowledgeable professionals.

Key Responsibilities

- Support energy efficiency studies for site utilities, including HVAC systems, chillers, compressed air, pumps, and cooling towers.
- Assist with feasibility analyses for system optimization and HVAC equipment conversion projects.
- Conduct field inspections to validate information in P&IDs and support accurate engineering documentation.
- Collect and analyze data needed for PSV calculations and mechanical integrity reviews.
- Support basic personnel training related to risk identification, safety compliance, and applicable standards.
- Assist with implementation and compliance activities tied to corporate program standards.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay rate: $21 per hour.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Job type: Contract/Temporary.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Less than 1 year of experience or early-career engineering background.
- Basic knowledge of industrial processes and data analysis.
- Basic knowledge in the operation of computerized systems.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Proactive, organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineering, operations, and compliance teams.
