Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

The position offers a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours, spread across five days, providing stability throughout the 26/27 academic year.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering clear, effective interpretation services between students, staff, and the school community within an onsite setting
• Fostering inclusion and accessibility for students with hearing differences
• Adhering to professional and ethical standards
• Collaborating with educators and school teams to best support student needs
• Accurately facilitating classroom and school activities via sign language interpretation

Qualifications and desired experience:

• Current North Carolina licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
• Proven strength in American Sign Language (ASL) and educational interpreting
• Comfortable working onsite for the duration of the assignment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Experience serving school-aged children or in an educational environment is preferred
