Mechanical Engineer

Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to support the design, analysis, and delivery of mechanical systems for large-scale building projects. This role involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems that meet performance, cost, and sustainability goals. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, experience in building systems design, and a passion for innovative, high-performance solutions. Key Responsibilities Design HVAC systems including air distribution, hydronic systems, and equipment selection Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements Conduct system performance analysis and troubleshoot design challenges Support value engineering efforts to optimize cost, efficiency, and constructability Evaluate new technologies and sustainable design strategies (e.g., decarbonization, electrification) Assist in life-cycle cost analysis and energy efficiency studies Collaborate with electrical, plumbing, structural, and architectural teams Participate in coordination meetings and BIM/VDC processes Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with design intent Provide engineering support during construction, including RFIs and field issue resolution Work closely with project managers and field teams to ensure proper system installation Conduct site visits and inspections to verify installation quality and adherence to plans Assist with commissioning activities and system start-up Communicate technical concepts clearly to clients and non-technical stakeholders Support client presentations and design reviews Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in building systems or MEP design Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or in progress Experience with HVAC system design and relevant codes (ASHRAE, Title 24, IMC, etc.) Proficiency in engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, TRACE, or similar tools) Familiarity with BIM and integrated project delivery methods is a plus Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and commitment to quality Effective communication and teamwork abilities Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn and grow #J-18808-Ljbffr Placement Club
