As a Personal Banker, you’ll receive extensive training on UMB’s products, services, the sales process, and offering financial solutions. You can also expect to work closely with UMB leaders, learning from their mentorship and expertise. Responsibilities Ask personalized questions to convert transactions, account maintenance, and other routine service requests into cross‑sell conversations that deepen client relationships while meeting customers’ needs. Personally create sales opportunities by calling leads, visiting businesses to offer workplace banking, and developing referral networks. Achieve daily key performance metrics while balancing competing priorities. Learn processes like transactions, manage a cash drawer, and complete bank documentation that you consistently perform according to industry and legal standards. Complete other job duties as assigned. Qualifications Thrive in a high‑energy, sales‑driven team and leverage daily coaching and feedback to polish sales outcomes. Use expert product knowledge and conversation skills to build upon customers’ needs and make a true difference in their financial lives. Communicate compellingly, project a positive image, and enjoy solving problems and creating positive outcomes. Demonstrate attention to detail when completing documents or explaining features and benefits. Hold a high‑school diploma or equivalent. Have one year of experience in a retail environment engaging with customers and making product recommendations that lead to sales or relevant experience. Have reliable transportation and the ability to work branch hours, including weekends and some evenings. Have the ability to obtain NMLS registration within 90 days. Compensation The posted salary range reflects the broadest standard range for this role, including all locations. The anticipated compensation for this specific opening is $20‑21 per hour. Compensation ranges: US employees in California, WashingtonDC, New Jersey, and New York: $35,750–$52,040 US employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, RhodeIsland, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin: $32,640–$47,640 US employees in all other states: $29,530–$43,240 The posted compensation range on this listing represents UMB’s good faith and reasonable estimate based on its budget and what it expects to be the starting pay for this role, but the actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job‑related factors.
