Job Profile Name: CNC Machinist Job Profile Code: OPH322 Reports To: Supervisor or Manager Job Family Group: Operations Duties and Responsibilities CNC Operations: Set up and operate basic CNC functions following detailed instructions and established procedures on CNC equipment to cut, punch, form, drill, pulse, spin, mill and stamp metal parts and components per design and drawing specifications required for subassemblies or finished products. Perform repetitive tasks such as loading/unloading parts on machines, attaching components, and operating hand tools. Conduct basic equipment checks to ensure tools and machines are operational. Follow step‑by‑step written or verbal instructions for machine setup and operation. Other duties as assigned. Quality Assurance: Perform routine quality inspections using basic measurement tools (e.g., rulers, tape measures). Identify and segregate defective parts for supervisor review. Maintain accurate records of production counts and defect reports. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Perform basic equipment checks (e.g., ensuring tools are operational). Maintain awareness and report potential safety hazards to leaders. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with team members, supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel to address challenges and improve processes. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to report issues and provide updates. Workspace Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Store tools and equipment properly. Flexibility and Adaptability: Work overtime as needed to meet production goals. Crosstrain in other areas and adjust to new processes or technologies. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: Entry‑level role: no experience required. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with machining techniques, tools, and equipment. Basic computer literacy. Essential Skills: Communication: Effective communication skills (verbal and written). Machining Techniques: Ability to use machining equipment, hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and testing equipment effectively. Quality Control: Ability to produce parts and products to meet quality standards. Problem‑Solving: Identify issues and communicate them to leadership. Safety Awareness: Follow safety protocols and maintain hazard awareness. Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with all employees. Adaptability: Be flexible in role, adjusting to new processes, technologies, or production requirements. Preferred Qualifications Entry‑level role: no experience required. Physical Demands Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle parts and tools with precision. Repetitive Motion: Perform repetitive motions such as bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, lifting, gripping, and grasping with hands. Standing Duration: Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift. Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Environmental Exposure: Ability to work in environments with noise, chemicals, dust, sharp objects, moving/rotating mechanical parts, and temperature extremes. Compensation Compensation is provided by Allegion. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience. Expected base hourly range: $17.50–$31.30. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
