Job Description
CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)

The CVOR Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in the Cardiovascular Operating Room by providing high-quality patient care during surgical procedures. This position requires expertise in both open heart and endovascular surgeries, along with the ability to scrub in for specific surgical tasks.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room.
• Assist in a variety of surgical procedures, primarily open heart and TAVR.
• Scrub in and assist during surgeries as needed, including holding the heart and closing the chest.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in on-call rotations as required.

Schedule and Shift Requirements

• Day shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
• One weekday call per week and one weekend call per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) in rotation with staff.
• Respond to calls within a 30-minute timeframe.

Unit Information

• 16 surgical suites with an average of 30 cases per day.
• 3 dedicated to cardiovascular surgeries.
• Working within an EMR system (Epic).
• Collaborate with a dedicated team, including 8 OR techs in the CVOR.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiovascular operating room setting.
• Current BLS certification (AHA) is required; ACLS preferred.
• Must have experience in open heart and/or endovascular procedures.
• Ability to scrub in as needed during surgical operations.

Orientation and Training

• One week of orientation is provided, with some remote modules included.
• Clinicians must be on-site for the week of orientation.
