Summary of Responsibilities

The Medication Technician (Med Tech) plays a vital role in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of our residents. Working closely with the Resident Care Director and interdisciplinary care team, the Med Tech safely administers medications, monitors resident health, assists with activities of daily living, and provides compassionate, person-centered care. This position combines clinical responsibility with meaningful resident interaction, making it an ideal opportunity for individuals who are detail-oriented, dependable, and passionate about senior care.

Essential Functions

• Essential duties may include, but are not limited to:
• Administer medications and treatments accurately in accordance with physician orders and company policy.
• Maintain accurate medication documentation within the MAR/eMAR system.
• Observe residents for changes in condition, medication effectiveness, and adverse reactions, reporting concerns promptly.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and dining assistance.
• Maintain medication carts, inventories, narcotic counts, and medication storage areas.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, pharmacies, families, and the healthcare team.
• Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and resident care concerns.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, infection prevention, and resident rights requirements.
• Participate in shift reports, required training, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support coworkers and assist with operational needs as assigned. These functions are consistent with the approved Medication Technician duties.

• Full-Time, Part-Time, and PRN opportunities available
• Day, Evening, Overnight, and Weekend shifts available
• Flexible scheduling based on community needs

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Medication Administration Certification or completion of a state-approved medication administration course.
• CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain if permitted).
• Previous experience in assisted living, personal care, memory care, or senior living preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Compassionate, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional resident-centered care.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and resident dignity.
