Billing Coordinator

Responsibilities Acts as a liaison between providers, departments, and the billing company. Coordinates and assists in billing and collection operations by the billing team. Carries out supportive duties in the billing team’s task of performing regular billing for all providers. Coordinates with other departments to ensure the accuracy of billing information. Provides all necessary paperwork for billing team to be able to bill accurately, i.e., patient demographics, insurance information, etc. Checks the correctness of the billing team’s work and resolves discrepancies as needed. Maintains and updates customer records related to billing and payment. Provides customer support to customers with disputes or inquiries concerning invoices or billing processes. Assists in reconciliation of account discrepancies. Performs faxing, mailing, and collecting tasks to assist billing team as required. Reports to work in a timely manner and adheres to policies, procedures, and processes. Performs other job duties as needed and/or as assigned. Qualifications Requires claims, billing, research, and collections experience. Requires experience navigating an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Requires proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products. Requires excellent customer service, communication, listening and time management skills. Requires the ability to function with minimal supervision. High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. Working knowledge of billing software is preferred.
