Registered Nurse (RN)- Cardiac ORThe UH Cleveland Medical Center Operating Room is looking for Registered Nurses interested in joining their team. This 15-week full-time paid program is designed to teach RNs the scrub and circulating role in the Operating Room with the expectation of a long-standing career in an OR setting. The Perioperative Program provides classroom lecture, skill development during mock surgeries, and precepted clinical experiences that are integrated to facilitate your success. Following successful program completion, orientation and training continues as you gain knowledge and skills in other clinical OR specialties. Our next cohort starts November 2, 2026! A brief overview provides safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status. What you will do includes implementing the nursing process by delivering effective relationship-based nursing care, demonstrating technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes, demonstrating clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations, developing self and contributing to the professional practice of nursing, and displaying leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes. Additional responsibilities include performing other duties as assigned, complying with all policies and standards, and must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.Qualifications include education in an accredited program, diploma in nursing or ADN associate's degree in nursing (required), BSN bachelor's degree in nursing (preferred), MN master in nursing (preferred), knowledge of nursing process and practice, use of a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies, registered nurse (RN), Ohio and/or multi-state compact license (required upon hire), and basic life support (BLS) (required upon hire). Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) may be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Pediatric advanced life support (PALS) may be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination, and travel requirements of 10%.Primary location: United States-Ohio-Cleveland.
