Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Adult Emergency Department position at a high-volume academic medical center, requiring Level I/II Trauma Center experience and a Florida or Compact RN license.

Details

• Adult Emergency Department at a high-volume academic medical center
• 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) on a variable day schedule
• 36 hours per week
• Weekends and holidays required
• No block scheduling
• Floating required with flexibility essential

Requirements

• Active FL RN license or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS or ENPC certification required
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
• Most recent 12 months of experience must include an academic medical center (preferred) or a Level I or Level II Trauma Center in a major metropolitan area
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required
• Recent experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center required
• Recent EPIC EMR experience required
• No employment gaps greater than 30 days without explanation
• Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the last 12 months

• All new RN hires must complete a specialty-specific competency exam and an EKG exam including rhythm mapping and interpretation
• Minimum passing score of 80% on each exam with 100% identification of lethal rhythms required regardless of overall EKG score
• Candidates who do not meet the EKG competency requirement will complete additional remedial training beyond Day Two of orientation
• Review of cardiac rhythms prior to start is strongly recommended
• RTO blackout dates apply: 11/26-11/28, 12/24-12/25, and 12/31
• No RTO permitted during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 10 days RTO allowed for the 13-week contract
• Unplanned time off may result in contract cancellation if missed shifts are not made up
• Local candidates accepted
• 50-mile radius rule applies for local rate eligibility
