Position Summary Human Resources Generalist/Partner – part‑time (20 hours per week) in a single HR department. Responsible for payroll, recruitment, performance management, compliance, and benefits for approximately 36 U.S. employees and 4 Canadian employees. Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration Process and manage U.S. semi‑monthly payroll. Process and manage Canadian monthly payroll. Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial, and local payroll regulations. Maintain payroll updates for new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and deductions. Coordinate with benefits providers to ensure accurate payroll deductions. Maintain payroll records and reporting. Recruitment & Onboarding Manage the full‑cycle recruitment process. Post compliant job openings in Paylocity. Prepare offer letters, pre‑employment screenings, and onboarding documentation. Oversee onboarding processes within Paylocity. Conduct new‑hire orientations (virtual and onsite as needed). Performance Management Administer the annual performance review process. Set up and manage performance reviews within Paylocity. Support managers with goal setting and documentation. Assist with corrective action processes. Support career development and growth initiatives. Employee Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for employee HR inquiries. Provide guidance to managers on HR policies and employee concerns. Assist in resolving workplace issues professionally and in compliance with employment regulations. Policy & Compliance Develop, update, and implement HR policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with U.S. and Canadian employment laws. Maintain employee handbook and HR documentation. Benefits Administration Administer employee benefits programs. Coordinate enrollments, changes, and terminations with third‐party benefit providers. Support annual open enrollment. Serve as liaison between employees and benefits vendors. Additional Support Provide HR reporting and metrics as requested. Support leadership with HR projects and initiatives. Assist with organizational growth and HR strategy. Participate in the Culture Club and employee engagement initiatives. Coordinate on‑site meetings and events for remote employees. Position Qualifications Minimum of 5+ years of HR Generalist experience. Experience processing U.S. payroll (required); Canadian payroll experience a plus. Experience with Paylocity strongly preferred. Knowledge of U.S. and Canadian employment laws and compliance requirements. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems. Work Schedule 20 hours per week – hybrid schedule: 1 day per week in office. Flexible 4‑hour daily schedule within standard business hours. Collaborative and professional team environment. Physical Demands of this Position Prolonged periods of sitting while working on a computer. Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, data entry, and operating office equipment. Ability to view and read information on a computer screen for extended periods. Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching within the office environment. Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies, onboarding materials). Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with employees, management, and external vendors.
