American Traveler seeks an OB Surgery Tech with at least 1 year of OB surgical tech experience for a Labor and Delivery unit position.

Hospital Labor and Delivery unit setting
Day shift, 12-hour shifts (7a-7p), 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications
May be required to take on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
Uses Epic charting system

Minimum 1 year of OB experience as a Surgical Tech required
Minimum 2 years of overall Surgical Tech experience with strong OB background required
High school diploma or GED required
Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program required, or equivalent US military training
BLS certification from the American Heart Association required, must not expire prior to start date
License required if applicable
DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Perform scrub duties and maintain sterile supplies and sterile technique
Assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients
Assemble, organize, and complete case carts according to physician preference lists
Provide instrumentation, sutures, and supplies as requested while maintaining a sterile environment
May assist surgeon by passing instruments during cases
Perform counts of sponges, needles, blades, and instruments per established policy
Assist in specimen handling and preparation for laboratory analysis
Handle specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, and contaminated materials per established safety standards
Assist with timely room turnover, including cleanup and restocking of supplies and equipment
Care for and maintain instruments and equipment
Background check and drug screening required, with results expected within approximately 2 weeks
Returning Intermountain staff must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before eligibility for a travel assignment
