Job Description
Within the scope of licensing, training, credentialing, and privileging, the Psychiatric NP diagnoses and treats people with mental and developmental disorders. Based on a diagnosis, the Psychiatric NP shall prescribe or administer medication and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent psychiatric and related illnesses, diseases, or injuries. Provides information or consultation to promote wellness or prevent onset or worsening of psychiatric and other health-related disorders and instructs patients and/or families on treatment plans.
At least 3 years of work experience as a psychiatric NP.
Ability to work with a team of providers. Proficient in utilizing the computer.
\nCompany DescriptionHealthCare Choices NY is a Federally qualified health center which enables providers to be eligible for the federal loan repayment program.The medical outpatient program serves both community and special populations. The health center has primary, dentistry, behavioral health (psychiatry/social work), health home capabilities, and podiatry to facilitate supportive referrals within the same location.
