About the Role:

Serenity Counseling Services of Virginia is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Residential Aide to join our team in Richmond, VA. Responsibilities:

Monitor and support residents in a residential treatment or behavioral health setting to ensure safety and well-being

Assist residents with daily living activities and maintain a structured, therapeutic environment

Document resident behavior, incidents, and progress accurately in accordance with facility protocols

Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed

Enforce house rules and program guidelines while maintaining professional boundaries

Collaborate with counselors, case managers, and clinical staff to support individualized treatment plans

Facilitate or assist with group activities, life skills programming, and community meetings

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required; degree in human services, psychology, or related field preferred

Prior experience in residential care, behavioral health, substance abuse treatment, or social services preferred

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-centered approach

Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress or crisis situations

CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)

Must pass a background check and drug screening

Reliable, empathetic, and committed to trauma-informed care principles
