About This Role

We seek childcare substitutes to fill daily classroom or afterschool operations of our Infant or Toddler Classroom or afterschool program group on an as-needed basis. Successful candidates will provide high-quality care and education for enrolled children daily in alignment with licensing ratio requirements while fostering positive collaborations with families, coworkers, service providers, and community partners.

• Implement Developmentally, Culturally, and Linguistically Appropriate Curriculum Development for your assigned classroom
• Facilitate High-quality student engagement and classroom management
• Assist in relevant record-keeping organization, training and compliance

Must be at least 18 years of age and meet minimum qualifications for an early childhood teacher or afterschool program staff substitute as described by the Vermont Child Development Division for Licensed Child Care Center Programs and NAEYC to include or exceed a high school diploma or GED.

Physical/environmental Requirements

There are several physical demands in this youth-facing role. Which include but may not be limited to:

• Hearing and speech abilities for ordinary and telephonic conversations and to speak to small groups of children.
• Visual acuity to read and write printed materials, computer screens and observe students’ movement.
• Ability to lift children, carry, push and move supplies/furniture/etc. of light-to-medium weight (under 40 lbs.) on an intermittent basis.
• Ambulatory ability to move around the classroom, playgrounds and assist with play-oriented learning activities.
• Sit, stand and/or move about for extended periods.
• Actively engage in play activities with students.
