Upstream Processing Senior Technician

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Senior Upstream Processing Technician to support commercial and clinical biologics manufacturing in St. Louis. The role involves executing cell culture operations, managing bioreactors, and maintaining cGMP compliance across 10-hour shifts in a laboratory cleanroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute manufacturing batch records, work instructions, and SOPs with focus on accuracy and compliance
• Perform upstream processing operations including mammalian cell culture propagation and aseptic techniques
• Operate large-scale bioreactors (50L-2000L) and conduct filtration or centrifugation activities
• Maintain detailed documentation of all activities to meet cGMP requirements and support quality investigations
• Support department operations by maintaining suite, supplies, equipment, and logbooks according to site procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years experience, or Bachelor's degree
• Experience in manufacturing, operations, production, or laboratory settings preferred
• Experience working in cGMP environment preferred
• Knowledge of cGMP practices, aseptic techniques, or chemical concepts preferred
• Critical thinking, problem-solving, and strong mathematical skills
• Proficiency with MS Office and English communication
• Ability to lift minimum 25 lbs and stand 80% of shift
