All work requirements are subject to change at any time based on leader discretion and/or business need.The OpportunityThis role is Detroit hybrid preferred; however, remote option possible.The Senior Actuarial Analyst is responsible for developing and supporting a robust reserving framework at Ally Insurance. The Senior Actuarial Analyst will be expected to independently lead projects from start to finish. This includes brainstorming, accurately executing advanced analytics, and effectively communicating results to Management and Senior Leadership. This role will have high visibility to Leadership and future advancement opportunities. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated leadership, communication, and technical skills. Programming skills a must. SQL/R/Python preferred.The Work ItselfSupport a reserving framework for insurance business, including both standard actuarial techniques and advanced modelingLead, develop, and communicate advanced analytics to Management and Senior LeadershipFoster innovation within the team and across the broader organizationWork collaboratively as a part of the product development, pricing, and/or reserving processesDevelop reserve indications, produce reserve ranges, and perform advanced analyticsSupport development of themselves and other associates in an actuarial capacity and according to Ally vision and mission statementThe Qualifications We're Looking ForACAS or near ACAS preferred; 5 or more Casualty Actuarial Society exams required4+ years of experience in actuarial or data science roles; exposure to advanced ratemaking and/or reserving a plusStrong communication and relationship building skillsProgramming skills in R required (SQL useful)Ability to adapt to change and adjust priorities quickly, as necessary and appropriateHigh level of problem solving and critical thinking capabilitiesWell-organized and detail-orientedHighly motivated and self-directedMinimum of Bachelor's degree in risk management, finance, economics, actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related fieldMust be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basisMinimum Qualifications3+ years of experienceHigh school Diploma or GED equivalentHow We'll Have Your BackAlly's compensation program offers market-competitive base pay and pay-for-performance incentives (bonuses) based on achieving personal and company goals.
