Senior Technical Writer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Technical Writer based in United States. The Senior Technical Writer will transform complex technical concepts, architecture decisions, and system designs into clear, accurate, and accessible documentation. You will support technical programs involving Salesforce, AWS, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, databases, and CI/CD environments. Your work will span requirements documentation, solution designs, operating models, technical diagrams, and supporting artifacts. You will collaborate directly with architects, engineers, security specialists, database teams, and federal stakeholders to capture decisions and technical requirements. The role requires more than strong writing-you will need to understand architecture and technical diagrams well enough to create, interpret, and update them. You will help establish consistency, quality, version control, and accessibility across critical documentation deliverables. This is a fully remote opportunity for a technically curious writer who can work independently while partnering effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Accountabilities Collaborate with Solution Architects, DevSecOps Engineers, Cybersecurity teams, Database Administrators, and other technical stakeholders to understand complex solutions across Salesforce and AWS environments. Produce and maintain requirements documentation that supports solution design, technical decisions, and program delivery. Draft and assemble solution design documentation, combining clear narrative content, architecture diagrams, and supporting materials. Develop and maintain operating model documentation for technical programs and mission-critical systems. Create, update, and revise architecture and technical diagrams using standard shapes, connectors, notation, and diagramming conventions. Translate technical discussions, decisions, and concepts into documentation that is accurate and accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences. Format, assemble, review, and finalize documentation packages for internal and client-facing review. Maintain documentation version control and organization using Confluence or comparable content management platforms. Ensure documentation meets Section 508 accessibility requirements and established formatting standards. Participate in technical discovery, architecture, and design sessions to gather source material and clarify requirements. Work with technical stakeholders to accurately capture architecture, requirements, decisions, dependencies, and design considerations. Maintain consistency in terminology, structure, formatting, and overall documentation quality across deliverables. Manage multiple documentation assignments simultaneously while adapting to changing priorities and deadlines. Build positive working relationships with federal clients, delivery teams, and technical stakeholders while supporting high-priority technical programs. Requirements Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma with 7 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated technical writing experience, with a required writing sample showing the ability to turn complex technical material into clear, structured documentation. Required diagram-based work sample demonstrating the ability to interpret or reproduce architecture or technical diagrams using standard shapes and connectors. Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, create, and update technical or architecture diagrams using tools such as Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or similar platforms. Sufficient technical knowledge to understand software, infrastructure, systems, and architecture concepts and document them accurately; this is not a purely administrative or transcription-focused position. Excellent written communication skills with strong command of grammar, organization, formatting, terminology, and attention to detail. Strong organizational and project-management abilities, including the capacity to manage several documentation deliverables concurrently. Ability to collaborate closely with technical stakeholders and accurately capture complex decisions and requirements. Ability to shift priorities effectively and remain productive in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Confluence, Jira, or similar documentation and collaboration platforms is preferred. Experience supporting federal government clients, programs, or documentation deliverables is preferred. Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies is a plus. Experience with Section 508 accessibility compliance is preferred. Coursework, certification, or professional experience in technical writing, information design, or a related discipline is advantageous. Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Must be available during core business hours of 8:00 AM-5:00 PM ET . Benefits Competitive annual salary of $60,200-$80,200 , commensurate with experience. Full-time, W2 employment. 100% remote position for candidates based in the United States. Standard 40-hour workweek with core availability from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM ET.
