Job Description Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. Report to the Plasma Center Manager and work under the guidance of the Center Physician and Medical Affairs. About the Role Responsible for determining donor eligibility and managing donor-related processes in a high‑quality, customer‑service focused environment. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, manage informed consent, and conduct medical history interviews. Perform physical examinations, blood testing, and review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) results. Manage donor adverse events and evaluate donor reactions per SOPs. Follow SOPs for medical emergencies and coordinate with the Center Physician, including the development of standing orders and donor transport to emergency care. Support HepatitisB and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and coordinate occupational‑health evaluations as required. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and support investigations of pandemic threats. Qualifications High‑school diploma or equivalent, or graduation from an accredited nursing program meeting state requirements. Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the state of assignment. Current CPR and AED certifications. Completion of FDA‑approved training for the BioLife Medical Support Specialist role. State‑required basic IV therapy certification. Two or more years of clinical or hospital experience.
