Locum Tenens Weekend STEMI Call Coverage

WPA Medicine Staffing is seeking a BC Interventional Cardiologist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Arizona. This assignment offers weekend-only STEMI call coverage in a collaborative cardiovascular program with advanced practice provider support and a streamlined credentialing process.

• Start: As soon as credentialed
• Coverage Type: Locum Tenens
• Commitment: Approximately 3 weekends per month
• Schedule: Friday 5:00 PM Monday 7:00 AM
• Setting: Inpatient Interventional Cardiology
• Onsite Requirement: Yes
• Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 30 days

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced interventional cardiologist seeking recurring weekend call coverage in a well-supported hospital environment. Providers will manage STEMI call, perform interventional procedures as needed, and provide inpatient consultative services for an adult patient population.

Clinical responsibilities include responding to STEMI activations, evaluating floor consults, and performing catheter-based interventions when indicated. Physicians can expect an average of 15 consults and approximately 3 procedures per day while working alongside dedicated APP support.

The average daily census is approximately 13 patients, allowing providers to deliver comprehensive cardiovascular care in a collaborative practice setting.

• BC in Interventional Cardiology
• Minimum of 2 years of post-training experience
• Active Arizona Medical License or IMLC eligibility
• Adult patient care experience

• Weekend STEMI call coverage only
• Friday evening through Monday morning schedule
• APP support available
• Adult patient population
• Average of 13 patients per day
• Approximately 15 consults and 3 procedures daily
• Floor consults and incoming STEMI coverage
• Cerner EMR
• Approximately 30-day credentialing process
