Summary of Work

Produces high-quality decorated items and baked goods according to the companys standard product offerings, decorates cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items. Helps in daily operations in the bakery department. Increases customer trust and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operational conditions. Offers fresh and attractive products, courteous, knowledgeable, and fast service. Values diversity and supports an inclusive environment by embracing team backgrounds and experiences.

Essential Responsibilities

Service: 40%

Creates an environment that allows customers to feel welcomed, important, and appreciated to increase customer trust and loyalty. Ensures the department is merchandised according to plan. Offers daily conditions that meet company expectations in terms of product availability, freshness, quality, and shelf value. Offers product samples, answers product questions, and assists customers in finding or suggesting products. Ensures customer requests and special orders are fulfilled. Maintains an efficient and organized method of receiving and processing customer orders. Decorates merchandise according to customer request ensuring satisfaction with all products. Utilizes decorating kits and hand-held decorating skills to prepare a range of quality baked goods.

Financial: 40%

Performs daily and weekly tasks (communications, online training, etc.) Process/bake merchandise according to production guidelines; test products to ensure quality. Check product quality for expiration dates and take necessary actions. Refer to production schedule to determine the variety and quantity of products to bake. Receive and unload delivery truck and store products in designated area. Store and rotate department products to ensure freshness and date control; restock and use supplies efficiently to eliminate waste and maintain the lowest supply cost. Maintains knowledge of inventory/storage conditions and reports any inventory discrepancies. Inspects product quality and freshness and takes appropriate actions with those items. Utilizes production planning tools to produce fresh products accurately and ensures that markdown or discount processes are followed to reduce losses. Ensures product is kept at the proper temperature according to food safety guidelines and maintains temperature log records as per policy.

Leadership: 10%

Promotes trust and respect among associates through collaboration, promotion of teamwork, and communication of specific information from the company, department, and job. Guides and empowers the team to meet or exceed goals. Adheres to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines. Compliance/Safety: 10% Ensures company standards are maintained in terms of safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity. Adheres to all regulatory compliance requirements related to food safety, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and country of origin labeling (COOL) and Department of Agriculture (DOA). Executes all product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner, while ensuring that all items are protected and removed from customer access. Reinforces safety programs by complying with safety procedures and inspecting and identifying unsafe conditions to report to store management. Notifies store management of customer or employee accidents. Reports all safety hazards or problems and illegal activities, including theft, pilferage, or fraud. Ensures compliance with wage and hour policies and regulations. Cultivates a culture of safety within the store. Ensures that you and all associates work safely and have received the necessary safety training. Ensures hazard assessments are posted for associate reference and that personal protective equipment is available and used by all associates performing tasks within the department as needed. Ensures equipment is in good working order; reports and helps with remediation (e.g., blocking/tagging) of safety hazards within the department.

• Supervisory experience 0-3 years minimum Knowledge, skills, and abilities required -
• Must be 18 years of age -
• Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain it. -
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug tests and background checks. -
• Strong customer service skills. -
• Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills. -
• Knowledge of basic math -
• Ability to handle stressful situations -
• Operate bakery equipment (e.g., slicer, oven, scale, knives, box cutter, price gun) according to company guidelines. -
• Proficient with computer applications used in the effective operation of the department.
• Possession of Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain within 180 days of placement.

Tasks

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age. -
• Solo Floater:
• Must be able to travel at least 80% of the time. -
• Compliance with all Fresco Y Mas policies and procedures. -
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. -
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English. -
• Authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain the same. -
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug tests and background checks.

Work Label

• Provide continuous attention to guest needs; greet, assist, and thank guests in a prompt, courteous, and friendly manner. -
• Maintain products as needed to present the appropriate quantity, quality, and variety in the display. -
• Offer product suggestions when appropriate. -
• Maintain an efficient and organized method for receiving and processing guest orders. - Process/bake merchandise according to production guidelines; -
• Test products to ensure quality. -
• Decorate merchandise according to guest request ensuring satisfaction with all products. -
• Receive and unload delivery truck and store products in designated area. -
• Store and rotate department products to ensure freshness and date control; restock and use supplies efficiently to eliminate waste and maintain the lowest supply cost. -
• Operate department equipment and tools. -
• Maintain the work area clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards; report to management about faulty equipment and hazards. -
• Notify management about team member theft, guest theft, unauthorized markdowns, property damage, or any action that is illegal and/or against company policy. -
• Solo Floater: Travel to assigned stores to complete tasks. -
• Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
