Work Environment This position is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility while still engaging directly with clients through virtual communication platforms. As a Licensed Master Social Worker in a school environment, you will collaborate closely with educators, school counselors, and healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student and community wellness. You will be provided with the tools necessary to effectively monitor and assess client needs remotely and will be expected to maintain thorough documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of the psychosocial needs of senior clients, considering a range of emotional, mental, and social factors. Develop personalized care plans in partnership with clients and their families, outlining tailored goals and specific interventions. Provide counseling and emotional support, assisting clients in navigating life transitions such as retirement, health changes, or loss. Advocate for clients' rights, ensuring access to necessary community resources, benefits, and support groups. Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams, including educators and medical professionals, to enhance care quality and client support. Conduct regular remote visits to monitor client well-being and adapt care plans as needed, while ensuring effective communication regarding their progress. Educate clients and families about available resources to enhance their independence and community involvement. Facilitate conflict resolution and communication among family members in the care of senior clients. Maintain thorough and accurate records of assessments, care plans, progress notes, and client interactions to ensure continuity of care. Patient Population / Client Focus As a Licensed Master Social Worker with Bright Star Counseling, you will focus on working with seniors facing varying degrees of psychosocial challenges. This population often requires personalized support to enhance their quality of life, address emotional difficulties, and navigate complex family dynamics. You will play a crucial role in responding to the unique needs of seniors and facilitating their integration into community programs. Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution. Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Florida. At least two years of experience in a relevant social work role, ideally within a geriatric or community service setting. Comprehensive knowledge of social work principles, geriatric care practices, and applicable community resources. Strong assessment, counseling, and problem-solving skills. Empathetic approach, demonstrating compassion and the ability to connect with seniors and their families. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Familiarity with electronic health record systems and proficiency in relevant computer applications. Preferred Experience Experience working in a school-based social work role or with older adults in community settings. Knowledge of educational programs and resources available for seniors. Previous involvement with interdisciplinary care teams. Compensation and Benefits The compensation for this position ranges between $60,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
