Dept of Cardiac Surgery - Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant

Location St Vincents Medical Center (10427) Shift Details Mon-Sun Role Open to Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners in Cardiac Surgery. Setting Inpatient, cardiac surgical services Schedule 13‑hour shifts, 3 times per week. Full‑time salaried, rotating includes day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday coverage. Possibility to do permanent night shifts. Responsibilities Under the direction of a cardiothoracic surgeon, provide a range of duties including first assisting cardiovascular surgical procedures, endoscopic vessel harvesting, preoperative history and physical examination, postoperative care including ICU and step‑down management, and inpatient consults. Support patient care from admission to discharge including Step‑Down, ICU and OR. Manage multiple patients with varied critical illness, perform comprehensive physical assessments, interpret diagnostic results, manage hemodynamic/ventilator care and conduct invasive procedures. Preferred experience includes arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes and feeding tubes.
