ASCP Environmental Services Technician

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region, where your role as an Environmental Services Technician is vital to maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position involves using soaps, germicidal detergents, and cleaning supplies to sanitize designated areas, tools, materials, and equipment, ensuring a hygienic atmosphere throughout the facility.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clean, disinfect, and service assigned areas including walls, ceilings, windows, furniture, equipment, sinks, mirrors, doors, lights, toilets, showers, shelves, cupboards, vents, water fountains, and garbage cans.
  • Handle removal of garbage, patient-related waste, and soiled linens with care and attention to safety.
  • Perform routine, repetitive tasks efficiently while maintaining awareness of patient safety and comfort.
  • Work under close supervision, completing standardized tasks quietly and promptly.
  • Be flexible to train and rotate between multiple district facilities such as clinics, hospital, and administrative offices as needed.
  • Participate in special projects and other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Housekeeping experience is preferred; hospital-based experience is a plus.
Requirements and Skills
  • Ability to learn and follow established policies and procedures.
  • Strong reading and comprehension skills for written and verbal instructions.
  • Effective communication skills and commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Competence in operating common cleaning tools and equipment.

Physical Requirements

This role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting and carrying items weighing up to 35 pounds, and occasional exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Normal vision, hearing, and speech capabilities are necessary, with or without corrective devices.

Work shifts are typically 8-hour shifts within a 40-hour workweek.
