Senior Financial Planner

As a member of our Financial Planning team, the Financial Planner plays an important role in developing and delivering comprehensive financial planning strategies for our clients. You will work collaboratively with Financial Advisors and other members of the planning team to analyze complex client situations, identify planning opportunities, develop recommendations, and help translate those recommendations into actionable strategies. This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys solving financial problems, working collaboratively, and using technology to make the planning process more effective. The Financial Planner should be technically savvy, intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple areas of a client’s financial life. Our goal is not simply to produce financial plans; it is to provide thoughtful analysis which helps our advisors and clients make better financial decisions. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive financial plans and planning analyses for clients in partnership with Financial Advisors. Analyze a client’s complete financial situation, including investments, retirement, cashflow, taxes, insurance, estate planning, employee benefits, and other relevant planning considerations. Identify planning opportunities, risks, and potential strategies that may not be immediately apparent from the client’s stated objectives. Work with Financial Advisors to evaluate alternatives and develop recommendations appropriate to each client’s goals and circumstances. Prepare financial projections, scenario analyses, and other planning materials used to support client recommendations and meetings. Participate in client meetings when appropriate to explain planning analyses, answer technical questions, and support implementation. Coordinate with investment, insurance, operations, and advisory team members to ensure planning recommendations are properly implemented. Work effectively with clients outside professionals, including CPAs and attorneys, when coordination is necessary to execute planning strategies. Maintain accurate and complete financial planning information within the Firm’s planning and CRM systems. Stay current on developments in taxation, retirement planning, estate planning, investments, insurance, Social Security, Medicare, regulatory requirements, and other areas relevant to comprehensive wealth management. Maintain a thorough understanding of the Firm’s compliance, regulatory, and departmental policies and procedures. Continually develop technical expertise and pursue ongoing professional education, including obtaining and maintaining the CFP® certification. Desired Skills and Experience CFP® designation preferred; candidates actively pursuing the CFP® designation will also be considered. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Financial Planning, or a related field. Minimum of five years of financial planning, wealth management, or client advisory experience preferred. Strong working knowledge of core financial planning disciplines, including retirement, investments, taxation, insurance, estate planning and cashflow analysis. Experience with financial planning technology such as eMoney; familiarity with CRM and other wealth-management technology is beneficial. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate multiple planning alternatives rather than simply produce software-generated results. Ability to explain sophisticated financial concepts clearly and practically. Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to understand client objectives, priorities, risk tolerance, and financial circumstances and incorporate them into planning recommendations. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple client cases and deadlines simultaneously. High attention to detail and a strong sense of personal accountability for the accuracy and completeness of work. Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with Financial Advisors and other professionals. Strong work ethic, professional judgment, and commitment to serving clients in a fiduciary capacity.
