Position Overview

We are seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) – Structural Engineer with 5+ years of structural design experience and a strong background in rail and transit infrastructure projects . The ideal candidate will have experience working with transportation agencies such as MTA, LIRR, Metro-North, NJ TRANSIT, NJTA , or similar public-sector transportation authorities.

Key Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis, design, and engineering calculations for rail and transit infrastructure projects.
Design and evaluate bridges, stations, platforms, retaining walls, pedestrian structures, and transportation facilities .
Prepare structural drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
Perform structural assessments and rehabilitation design for existing structures.
Coordinate structural designs with civil, architectural, MEP, transportation, and multidisciplinary teams.
Review construction documents, shop drawings, RFIs, and contractor submittals.
Support field investigations, site inspections, and existing-condition assessments.
Ensure designs comply with AASHTO, AREMA, NYSDOT, MTA/LIRR, NJ TRANSIT, NJTA , and applicable building codes and standards.
Coordinate with clients, contractors, and agency representatives.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support project managers.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Minimum 5+ years of structural engineering and design experience.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Strong experience in rail, transit, transportation, or infrastructure projects .
Experience with MTA, LIRR, Metro-North, NJ TRANSIT, NJTA , or similar agencies strongly preferred.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS , or similar structural engineering software.
Strong knowledge of structural design codes, standards, and specifications.
Excellent communication, technical documentation, and project coordination skills.
