Senior Supplier Quality Engineer- (Off Highway)

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

\n
• Manage supplier quality activities from new product development through production and SOP .
\n
• Lead and review APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and Run-at-Rate activities.
\n
• Conduct supplier process audits and evaluate manufacturing capability and capacity.
\n
• Work directly with suppliers to identify root causes and implement permanent corrective actions.
\n
• Lead 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and structured root-cause analysis for supplier quality issues.
\n
• Support emergency containment, production recovery, and resolution of critical supplier issues.
\n
• Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes including machining, casting, stamping, welding, forming, injection molding, and automated assembly .
\n
• Monitor supplier performance, quality metrics, corrective actions, and launch readiness.
\n
• Review engineering drawings and specifications with strong understanding of GD&T / ASME Y14.5 .
\n
• Perform or support MSA, Gauge R&R, SPC, capability studies, and Cpk/Ppk analysis .
\n
• Participate in supplier selection, technical sourcing, manufacturing feasibility reviews, and DFM activities.
\n
• Support engineering changes, ECN/ECR implementation, and change-management activities.
\n
• Conduct Layered Process Audits (LPA) and verify supplier process controls.
\n
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Program Management, and suppliers to prevent production disruptions.
\n
• Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives across the supply base.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering , or a related field.
\n
• 5+ years of Supplier Quality / Quality Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering experience .
\n
• Strong experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC, and 8D .
\n
• Experience conducting supplier audits and manufacturing process assessments .
\n
• Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Experience reading engineering drawings and applying GD&T .
\n
• Experience with supplier development and new product launch activities.
\n
• Ability to work cross-functionally with suppliers, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing teams.
\n
• Strong communication and project-management skills.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n
• Experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, heavy equipment, or diesel/powertrain manufacturing .
\n
• Experience with machining, casting, stamping, welding, plastics, or assembly processes .
\n
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 quality systems.
\n
• Experience with Minitab or similar statistical analysis tools.
\n
• Experience with CMM, 3D scanning, CT scanning, or other metrology technologies.
\n
• Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
\n
• Supplier Quality experience supporting OEM or Tier 1 manufacturing environments .
